Allowthebelttoretract.Asthebeltretracts,youwillhearaclicking

sound.Thisindicatestheseatbeltisnowintheautomaticlocking

mode.

Howtodisengagetheautomaticlockingmode

Disconnectthecombinationlap/shoulderbeltandallowittoretract

completelytodisengagetheautomaticlockingmodeandactivatethe

vehiclesensitive(emergency)lockingmode.

Iftheseatbeltisnotcomingoutoftheretractorwhenitlookstobe

fullyretracted,checktoseeifitmightstillbeattachedtothesideofthe

vehiclebythesnapsdesignedtokeepitoutofthewaywhenyoulast

puttherearseatintocargoconfiguration.RefertoReturningtherear

seatstouprightpositioninthischapter.

WARNING: Afteranyvehiclecollision,theseatbeltsystemsat

allseatingpositions(exceptthedriverposition,whichdoesn’t

havethisfeature)mustbecheckedbyanauthorizeddealerto

verifythattheautomaticlockingretractorfeatureforchild

seatsisstillfunctioningproperly.Inaddition,allseatbelts

shouldbecheckedforproperfunction.

WARNING: BELTANDRETRACTORASSEMBLYMUSTBE

REPLACEDiftheseatbeltassembly“automaticlocking

retractor”featureoranyotherseatbeltfunctionisnot

operatingproperlywhencheckedaccordingtotheproceduresin

WorkshopManual.FailuretoreplacetheBeltandRetractor

assemblycouldincreasetheriskofinjuryincollisions.
