TheRCM(restraintscontrolmodule)monitorsitsowninternalcircuits
andthesupplementalairbagelectricalsystemwiring(includingthe
impactsensors,thesystemwiring,theairbagsystemreadinesslight,the
airbagbackuppowerandtheairbagignitors).
WARNING:Severalairbagsystemcomponentsgethotafter
inflation.Donottouchthemafterinflation.
WARNING:Iftheairbaghasdeployed,theairbagwillnot
functionagainandmustbereplacedimmediately.Ifthe
airbagisnotreplaced,theunrepairedareawillincreasetheriskof
injuryinacollision.
Front passenger sensing system
Thefrontpassengersensingsystemisdesignedtomeettheregulatory
requirementsofFederalMotorVehicleSafetyStandard(FMVSS)208
andisdesignedtodisable(willnotinflate)thefrontpassenger’sfrontal
airbagundercertainconditions.
Thefrontpassengersensingsystemworkswithsensorsthatarepartof
thefrontpassenger’sseatandsafetybelt.Thesensorsaredesignedto
detectthepresenceofaproperlyseatedoccupantanddetermineifthe
frontpassenger’sfrontalairbagshouldbeenabled(mayinflate)or
disabled(willnotinflate).
Thefrontpassengersensingsystemwilldisable(willnotinflate)the
frontpassenger’sfrontalairbagif:

thefrontseat,

childrestraintthatisinstalledaccordingtothemanufacturer’s
