areaattheoutercornersofthe
bumper,(refertothefiguresfor
approximatezonecoverageareas).
Asyoumoveclosertotheobstacle,
therateofthetoneincreases.When
theobstacleislessthan10inches
(25.0
cm)away,thetonewillsound
continuously.IftheRSSdetectsa
stationaryorrecedingobjectfurther
than10inches(25.0cm)fromthe
sideofthevehicle,thetonewill
soundforonlythreeseconds.Once
thesystemdetectsanobject
approaching,thetonewillsound
again.
TheRSSautomaticallyturnson
whenthegearshiftleverisplacedin
R(Reverse)andtheignitionison.
AnRSScontrollocatedonthe
instrumentpanelallowsthedriver
toturntheRSSonandoff.Toturn
theRSSoff,theignitionmustbeon.
ThesystemwillremainoffuntileithertheRSScontrolispressedagain
ortheignitionisturnedoff,thenonagain.Anindicatorlightonthe
controlwillilluminatewhenthesystemisturnedoff.Iftheindicator
lightilluminateswhentheRSSisnotturnedoff,itmayindicateafailure
intheRSS.
KeeptheRSSsensors(locatedontherearbumper/fascia)free
fromsnow,iceandlargeaccumulationsofdirt(donotcleanthe
sensorswithsharpobjects).Ifthesensorsarecovered,itwill
affecttheaccuracyoftheRSS.
Ifyourvehiclesustainsdamagetotherearbumper/fascia,leaving
itmisalignedorbent,thesensingzonemaybealteredcausing
inaccuratemeasurementofobstaclesorfalsealarms.
