Easy Fuel™ “no cap” fuel system
YourfueltankisequippedwithanEasyFuel™“nocap”fuelfiller
system.Thisallowsyoutosimplyopenthefuelfillerdoorandinsertthe
fuelfillernozzleintothefuelsystem.TheEasyFuel™systemis
self-sealingandprotectedagainstdust,dirt,waterandsnow/ice.
Whenfuelingyourvehicle:

Turntheengineoff.
Openthefuelfillerdoor.
Slowlyinsertthefuelfillernozzlefullyintothefuelsystem.Pumpfuel
asnormal.

Afteryouaredonepumpingfuel,slowlyremovethefuelfiller
nozzle—allowaboutfivesecondsafterpumpingfuelbeforeremovingthe
fuelfillernozzle.Thisallowsresidualfueltodrainbackintothefueltank
andnotspillontothevehicle.
Note:Afuelspillageconcernmayoccurifoverfillingthefueltank.Do
notoverfillthetanktothepointthatthefuelisabletobypassthefuel
fillernozzle.Theoverfilledfuelmayrundownthedrainlocatedbelow
andinfrontofthefuelfillerdoor.
IftheCheckFuelFillInletlamporCheckFuelFillInletmessagecomes
on,thefuelfillinletmaynothaveproperlyclosed.Theinletmayhave
stuckopenordebrismaybepreventingtheinletfromfullyclosing.At
thenextopportunity,safelypullofftheroad,turnofftheengine,open
thefuelfillerdoorandremoveanyvisibledebrisfromthefuelfill
opening.Inserteitherthefuelfillnozzleorthefuelfillfunnel(see
Refillingwithaportablefuelcontainerforfunnellocation)provided
withthevehicleseveraltimestodislodgeanydebrisand/orallowthe
inlettocloseproperly.Ifthisactioncorrectstheproblem,theCheck
FuelFillInletlamporCheckFuelFillInletmessagemaynotreset
immediately.ItmaytakeseveraldrivingcyclesfortheCheckFuelFill
InletlamporCheckFuelFillInletmessagetoturnoff.Adrivingcycle
consistsofanenginestart-up(afterfourormorehourswiththeengine
off)followedbycity/highwaydriving.ContinuingtodrivewiththeCheck
FuelFillInletlamporCheckFuelFillInletmessageonmaycausethe
ServiceEngineSoonlamptoturnonaswell.
