Whendrivingslowly,thegearsmaynot

Inmanualshiftmode,gearsdonotshiftup
automatically.Don'truntheenginewiththe
tachometerneedleintheREDZONE.Ifthe
tachometerneedleenterstheREDZONE,
youmayfeelengine-brakingbecausethe
fueldeliverywillbestoppedtoprotectthe
engine.However,thisdoesnotindicatean
abnormality.

DOWN switches
Whendepressingtheacceleratorfully,the
transmissionwillshifttoalowergear,
dependingonvehiclespeed.

ManuallyShiftingdown
(M6→M5→M4→M3→M2→M1)
Toshiftdowntoalowergear,taptheshift
leverforward( )once.
WARNING
Donotuseenginebrakingonslippery
roadsurfacesorathighspeeds:
Shiftingdownwhiledrivingonwet,
snowy,orfrozenroads,orwhile
drivingathighspeedscausessudden
enginebraking,whichisdangerous.
Thesuddenchangeintirespeed
couldcausethetirestoskid.This
couldleadtolossofvehiclecontrol
andanaccident.
Keepyourhandsonthesteeringwheel
rimwhenusingfingersorthumbson
thesteeringshiftswitches:
Puttingyourhandsinsidetherimof
thesteeringwheelwhenusingthe
steeringshiftswitchesisdangerous.
Ifthedriverairbagweretodeployin
acollision,yourhandscouldbe
impactedcausinginjury.
