Shiftingupanddownwhileindirectmodemay
notbepossibledependingonthevehicle
speed.Inaddition,becausedirectmodeis
canceled(released)dependingontherateof
accelerationoriftheacceleratorisfully
depressed,useofthemanualshiftmodeis
recommendedifyouneedtodrivethevehicle
inaparticulargearforlongperiods.
Powersteeringisonlyoperablewhenthe
engineisrunning.Iftheengineisofforif
thepowersteeringsystemisinoperable,
youcanstillsteer,butitrequiresmore
physicaleffort.
Ifthesteeringfeelsstifferthanusual
duringnormaldriving,consultan

NOTE
Thesteeringmayfeelrigidifyoucontinuously
attempttosteerwhenthevehicleisstoppedor
movingextremelyslowly.Thishasbeen
designedtoprotectthesystemanddoesn't
indicateamalfunction.Ifyoudon'tattemptto
steerforaminute,powersteeringwillbe
restored.
Forextrapowerwhenpassinganother
vehicleorclimbingsteepgrades,depress
theacceleratorfully.Thetransmissionwill
shifttoalowergear,dependingonvehicle
speed.

ShifttoDorM1,dependingonthe
loadweightandgradesteepness.

Whendescendingasteepgrade,shiftto
lowergears,dependingonloadweight
andgradesteepness.Descendslowly,
usingthebrakesonlyoccasionallyto
preventthemfromoverheating.
Thisindicatorlightilluminateswhenthe
ignitionswitchisturnedtotheON
positionandgoesoffwhentheengineis
started.
Ifthislightilluminateswhiledriving,it
indicatesamalfunctionofthepower
