Failure to follow these procedures could result in
damagetothechargingsystemoftheboostervehicle
orthedischargedvehicle.
Donotconnectthecabletothenegativepost(-)ofthe
discharged battery. The resulting electrical spark
couldcausethebatterytoexplodeandcouldresultin
personalinjury.
1.
Connectthepositive(+)endofthejumpercabletothe
positive(+)postofthedischargedvehicle.
5. Start the engine in the vehicle that has the booster
battery,lettheengineidleafewminutes,andthenstart
theengineinthevehiclewiththedischargedbattery.

Connect the opposite end of the positive (+) jumper
cabletothepositive(+)postoftheboosterbattery.
Oncetheengineisstarted,removethejumpercablesin
thereversesequence:

Connectthenegativeend(-)ofthejumpercabletothe

on the hood latch assembly (-) of the vehicle with the
dischargedbattery.
Disconnectthenegative(-)jumpercablefromthestud

cable to the stud on the hood latch assembly (-) of the
vehiclewiththedischargedbattery.
Connect the opposite end of the negative (-) jumper
7.
Disconnect the negative end (-) of the jumper cable
fromthenegative(-)postoftheboosterbattery.
