THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING YOUR VEHICLE
Rear Center Lap/Shoulder Belt Retractor Lockout
(Four-Door Models Only)
WARNING!
This feature is designed to lock the retractor whenever
the60%rearseatbackisnotfullylatched.Thisprevents
someonefromwearingtherearcenterlap/shoulderbelt
whentherearseatbackisnotfullylatched.
Therearcenterlap/shoulderbeltisequippedwitha
lock-outfeaturetoensurethattherearseatbackisin
thefullyuprightandlockedpositionwhenoccupied.
If the rear seatback is not fully upright and locked
and the rear center lap/shoulder belt can be pulled
out of the retractor, the vehicle should immediately
betakentoyourauthorizeddealerforservice.Failure
tofollowthiswarningcouldresultinseriousorfatal
injury.
NOTE:
•
If the rear center lap/shoulder belt cannot be pulled
out,checkthattherearseatbackisfullylatched.
•
If the rear seatback is properly latched and the rear
centerlap/shoulderbeltstillcannotbepulledout,the
Automatic-Locking Retractor (ALR) system may be Adjustable Upper Shoulder Belt Anchorage
activated.Toresetthisfeatureyoumustletallofthe In the front seat positions, the shoulder belt anchorage
beltwebbingreturnintotheretractor.Youwillnotbe canbeadjustedupwardordownwardtopositionthebelt
abletopulloutmorewebbinguntilallofthewebbing away from your neck. Push in on the anchorage near
hasbeenreturnedbackintotheretractor.
