misjudgement.Itremainsthedriver's
responsibilitytodrivewithduecare
andattention,inamannerwhichis
safeforthevehicle,itsoccupantsand
theotherroadusers.
TodisableDSC,pressandbrieflyholdtheDSC
OFFswitchonthefascia.TheDSCoffwarning
lampwillilluminatecontinuously.See36,
DYNAMICSTABILITYCONTROL(DSC)OFF
(AMBER).DeactivatingDSCalsoreducesthe
levelofTractioncontrolinterventionandmay
leadtoanincreaseinwheelspin.
DSCoptimisesvehiclestability,evenincritical
drivingsituations.Thesystemcontrols
dynamicstabilitywhenacceleratingandwhen
startingfromastandstill.Additionally,it
identifiesunstabledrivingbehaviour,suchas
understeerandoversteerandhelpstokeepthe
vehicleundercontrolbymanipulatingengine
outputandapplyingthebrakesatindividual
wheels.Somenoisemaybegeneratedwhen
thebrakesareapplied.

Safetymaybereducedby
inappropriatelydisablingDSC.Inthe
majorityofdrivingsituations,and
particularlyon-road,itis
recommendedthatyoudonotdisable
DSC.
Insomedrivingconditions,itmaybe
appropriatetodisableDSCtoimprovetraction.
Theseconditionsinclude:
Rockingthevehicleoutofahollowordeep
rut.
Pullingawayindeepsnow,oronaloose
surface.
Drivingthroughdeepsandormud.
