smoothness.Itisnormalforyourtransaxletoshiftfirmlyduringthefirst
fewhundredkilometers(miles)ofoperationuntiltheadaptivestrategy
hasbeenlearned.Theadaptivelearningstrategyismaintainedbypower
fromthebattery.Whenthebatteryisdisconnectedoranewbatteryis
installed,thetransaxlemustrelearnitsadaptivestrategy.Optimal
shiftingwillresumewithinafewhundredkilometers(miles)of
operation.
Yourautomaticoverdrivetransaxle
providesfullyautomaticoperationin
either
(Overdrive)orD(Drive).
Drivingwiththeshiftselectorin
(Overdrive)givesthebestfuel
economyfornormaldriving
conditions.Formanualcontrolstart
in1(First)andthenshiftmanually.
Ifyourvehicleisequippedwitha
consolemountedgearshift,you
mustpressthethumbbuttononthe
sideofthegearshiftlevertomove
thegearshiftleverfromP(Park).
Toputyourvehicleingear,startthe
engine,depressthebrakepedal,
thenmovethegearshiftleveroutof
P(Park).
Holdthebrakepedaldownwhileyoumovethegearshiftlever
fromP(Park)toanotherposition.Ifyoudonotholdthebrake
pedaldown,yourvehiclemaymoveunexpectedlyandinjuresomeone.
