DONOTfillafuelcontainerwhileitisinthevehicle.
Keepthefuelpumpnozzleincontactwiththefuelcontainerwhile
filling.

DONOTuseadevicethatwouldholdthefuelpumphandleinthefill
position.
Fuel Filler Cap
Yourfueltankfillercaphasanindexeddesignwitha1/8turnon/off
feature.
Whenfuelingyourvehicle:
1.
Turntheengineoff.
2.Carefullyturnthefillercapcounterclockwise1/8ofaturnuntilit
stops.
3.
4.
Pulltoremovethecapfromthefuelfillerpipe.
Toinstallthecap,alignthetabsonthecapwiththenotchesonthe
fillerpipe.
Turnthefillercapclockwise1/8ofaturnuntilitstops.
Afterrefueling,ifthe      indicatorcomesonandstaysonwhenyou

starttheengine,thefuelfillercapmaynotbeproperlyinstalled.Turn
offtheengine,removethefuelfillercap,alignthecapproperlyand
reinstallitsecurely.The
indicatorshouldturnoffafterthree
drivingcycleswiththefuelfillercapproperlyinstalled.Adrivingcycle
consistsofacoldenginestart-upfollowedbymixedcity/highwaydriving.
Ifyoumustreplacethefuelfillercap,replaceitwithafuelfiller
capthatisdesignedforyourvehicle.Thecustomerwarrantymay
bevoidforanydamagetothefueltankorfuelsystemifthe
correctgenuineFordorMotorcraftfuelfillercapisnotused.
