measurementafter3000km–5000km(2000miles-3000miles).
Filling the tank
Theadvertisedfuelcapacityofthefueltankonyourvehicleisequalto
theratedrefillcapacityofthefueltankaslistedintheRefillCapacities
sectionoftheCapacitiesandspecificationschapter.
Theadvertisedcapacityistheamountoftheindicatedcapacityandthe
emptyreservecombined.Indicatedcapacityisthedifferenceinthe
amountoffuelinafulltankandatankwhenthefuelgaugeindicates
empty.Emptyreserveisthesmallamountofusablefuelremaininginthe
fueltankafterthefuelgaugeindicatesempty.
Theamountofemptyreservevariesandshouldnotberelied
upontoincreasedrivingrange.Whenrefuelingyourvehicleafter
thefuelgaugeindicatesempty,youmightnotbeabletorefuel
thefullamountoftheadvertisedcapacityofthefueltankdueto
theemptyreservestillpresentinthetank.
Forconsistentresultswhenfillingthefueltank:

Usethesamefillingratesetting(low—medium—high)eachtime
thetankisfilled.

Allowthreeautomaticclick-offswhenfilling.
Alwaysusefuelwiththerecommendedoctanerating.
Useaknownqualitygasoline,preferablyanationalbrand.
Usethesamesideofthesamepumpandhavethevehiclefacingthe
samedirectioneachtimeyoufillup.

Havethevehicleloadinganddistributionthesameeverytime.
Yourresultswillbemostaccurateifyourfillingmethodisconsistent.
Calculating fuel economy
1.
Fillthefueltankcompletelyandrecordtheinitialodometerreading
(inkilometersormiles).
2.
Eachtimeyoufillthetank,recordtheamountoffueladded(inliters
orgallons).
3.
Afteratleastthreetofivetankfill-ups,fillthefueltankandrecord
thecurrentodometerreading.
