collisionincludinginformationabouttheairbagsystemandimpact
severity.ThisinformationwillassistFordintheservicingofyourvehicle
andmayhelpFordbetterunderstandrealworldcollisionsandfurther
improvethesafetyoffuturevehicles.
Theairbagsupplementalrestraintsystemisdesignedtoworkin
conjunctionwiththesafetybeltstohelpprotectthedriverandfront
outboardpassengerfromcertainupperbodyinjuries.Theterm
“supplementalrestraint”meanstheairbagsareintendedasa
supplementtothesafetybelts.Airbagsalonecannotprotectaswellas
airbagsplussafetybeltsinimpactsforwhichtheairbagsaredesigned
todeploy,andairbagsdonotofferanyprotectionincrashesforwhich
theydonotdeploy.
