Theoptionaltheft-deterrentsystemis
designedtopreventyourvehicleorits
contentsfrombeingstolenwhenalldoors,
hood,andtrunklid/liftgate/hatchare
locked.
qHowtoArmtheSystem
1.
Removethekeyfromtheignition
switch.
Ifforcibleentryisattempted,thesystem
soundsthehornandflashesthehazard
warninglights.
2. Makesurethehoodisclosed.Close
andlockalldoorsandthehatch/
liftgate/trunklidfromtheoutsideusing
thekeyorpressthelockbuttonon
yourkeylessentrysystemtransmitter.
Thehazardwarninglightswillflash
oncetoindicatethatthesystemis
armed.
NOTE
Thetheft-deterrentsystemoperates
l
withthekeyorthekeylessentry
systemtransmitter.
Thesystemwillnotfunctionunless
itisproperlyarmed.Toproperly
securethevehicle,alwaysmakesure
allwindowsarecompletelyclosed
andalldoorsandthetrunklid/
liftgate/hatcharelockedbefore
leavingthevehicle.Rememberto
takeyourkeyandtransmitter.

Thefollowingmethodwillalsoarmthe
theft-deterrentsystem:
Closethehoodandthehatch/liftgate/
trunklid.Presstheareaonthedoor-
lockswitchmarked“LOCK”once.
Closealldoors.
NOTE
Lockingthedoorswiththeinsidedoor-
lockknobwillnotarmthesystem.

Systemtriggeringconditions
Thehornsoundsintermittentlyandthe
hazardwarninglightsflashforabout25
secondswhenthesystemistriggeredby
anyoneofthefollowing:
qToTurnoffanArmedSystem
Anarmedsystemcanbeturnedoffbyany
oneofthefollowingmethods:
Unlockadoorwiththekey.
Forcingopenadoor,thehoodorthe
trunklid/liftgate/hatch.

Presstheunlockbuttononthekeyless
entrysystemtransmitter.
Openingadoor,thehoodorthetrunk
l
lidbyoperatinganinsidedoor-lock
knob,thehoodreleasehandleorthe
trunklidreleasebutton.
Insertthekeyintotheignitionswitch
andturnittotheONposition.
l
Thehazardwarninglightswillflashtwice
toindicatethatthesystemisturnedoff.
