steephill.D3canalsokeepthe
transmissionfromcyclingbetween
thirdandfourthgearsinstop-and-go
driving.
First(1)－Toshiftfromsecondto
EngineSpeedLimiter
first,pressthereleasebuttononthe
frontoftheshiftlever.Thisposition
locksthetransmissioninfirstgear.
Byupshiftinganddownshifting
through1,2,D3,andD,youcan
operatethetransmissionmuchlikea
manualtransmissionwithouta
clutchpedal.
Ifyouexceedthemaximumspeed
forthegearyouarein,theengine
speedwillenterintothetachometer’s
redzone.Ifthisoccurs,youmayfeel
theenginecutinandout.Thisis
causedbyalimiterintheengine’s
computercontrols.Theenginewill
runnormallywhenyoureducethe
rpmbelowtheredzone.
Second(2)－Toshifttosecond,
pressthereleasebuttononthefront
oftheshiftlever.Thispositionlocks
thetransmissioninsecondgear.It
doesnotdownshifttofirstgear
whenyoucometoastop.
Usesecondgear:
Formorepowerwhenclimbing.
Toincreaseenginebrakingwhen
goingdownsteephills.
Forstartingoutonaslippery
surfaceorindeepsnow.
