SeatBeltSystemComponents
Yourseatbeltsystemincludeslap/
shoulderbeltsinallfiveseating
positions.Thefrontseatbeltsare
alsoequippedwithautomaticseat
belttensioners.
Thissystemusesthesamesensors
asthefrontairbagstomonitor
whetherthefrontseatbeltsare
latchedorunlatched,andhowmuch
weightisonthefrontpassenger’s
seat(seepages22and25).
Thissystemmonitorsthefrontseat
Iftheindicatorcomesonorthe
beepersoundswhenthedriver’sseat
beltislatchedandthereisnofront
seatpassengerandnoitemsonthe
frontseat,somethingmaybe
belts.Ifyouturntheignitionswitch
totheON(II)positionbeforeyour
seatbeltisfastened,thebeeperwill
soundandtheindicatorwillflash.If
yourseatbeltisnotfastenedbefore
thebeeperstops,theindicatorwill
stopflashingbutremainon.

Anyitemsunderthefront
passenger’sseat.
Ifafrontpassengerdoesnotfasten
theirseatbelt,theindicatorwill
comeonabout6secondsafterthe

Theseatbeltsystem
includesanindicatoronthe
instrumentpanelandabeeperto
remindyouandyourpassengersto
fastenyourseatbelts.
Anyobjects,suchasafolded-down
backseat,thataretouchingthe
rearoftheseat-back.
Ifeitherthedriverorafront
passengerdoesnotfastentheirseat
beltwhiledriving,thebeeperwill
soundandtheindicatorwillflash
againatregularintervals.
Ifnoobstructionsarefound,have
yourvehiclecheckedbyadealer.
Whennooneissittinginthefront
passenger’sseat,orachildorsmall
adultisridingthere,theindicator
shouldnotcomeonandthebeeper
shouldnotsound.
