Seating and Safety Restraints
WARNING:IftheSafetyCanopy௡Systemhasdeployed,the
SafetyCanopy௡willnotfunctionagain.TheSafety
Canopy௡System(includingtheA,BandCpillartrim)mustbe
inspectedandservicedbyanauthorizeddealer.IftheSafety
Canopy௡isnotreplaced,theunrepairedareawillincreasetheriskof
injuryinacollision.
Determiningifthesystemisoperational
TheSRSusesareadinesslightintheinstrumentclusteroratoneto
indicatetheconditionofthesystem.RefertotheAirbagreadiness
sectionintheInstrumentClusterchapter.Routinemaintenanceofthe
airbagisnotrequired.
Anydifficultywiththesystemisindicatedbyoneormoreofthe
following:

Thereadinesslight(samelightasforfrontairbagsystem)willeither
flashorstaylit.
Thereadinesslightwillnotilluminateimmediatelyafterignitionis
turnedon.
Aseriesoffivebeepswillbeheard.Thetonepatternwillrepeat
periodicallyuntiltheproblemandlightarerepaired.
Ifanyofthesethingshappen,evenintermittently,contactyour
authorizeddealerassoonaspossible.Unlessserviced,thesystemmay
notfunctionproperlyintheeventofacollisionorrolloverevent.
SOS Post-Crash Alert System™
Thesystemautomaticallyflashestheturnsignallampsandsoundsthe
hornthreetimesatfoursecondintervalsintheeventofaseriousimpact
thatdeploysanairbag(front,side,sidecurtainorSafetyCanopy௡ )or
thesafetybeltpretensioners.
Thesystemcanbeturnedoffwhenanyoneofthefollowingactionsare
takenbythedriveroranyotherperson:

pressingthehazardcontrolbutton,
orpressingthepanicbuttonontheremoteentrytransmitter.
Thefeaturewillcontinuetooperateuntilthevehiclerunsoutofpower.
