Whenproperlyequipped,trailerswaycontrolwillusethevehicle’s
AdvanceTrac௡withRSC௡systemtodetectandhelpreducetrailersway
byapplyingbrakeforceatindividualwheelsand,ifnecessary,by
reducingenginepower.Trailerswaycontrolisonlyenabledabove
40
mph(64km/h).
WARNING:Trailerswaycontroldoesnotpreventatrailerfrom
swaying,itmitigatestheswayfromincreasingonceithas
occurred.Ifyouareexperiencingtrailerswayitislikelythatthetrailer
isimproperlyloadedforthecorrecttongueweightorthespeedofthe
vehicleandtraileristoohigh.Pullthevehicle-trailerovertoasafe
locationtocheckthetrailerweightdistributionandtongueloadand
reducespeedtoasafelevelwhiletowing.Iftrailerswayis
experienced,SLOWDOWN.
Duringtrailerswaycontrolevents,the
iconintheinstrumentcluster
willflashmomentarily.ThemessagecenterwillalsodisplayTRAILER
SWAYREDUCESPEED.Insomecaseswhentrailerswayisdetected,
thevehiclespeedistoohighandmaybeatoraboveaspeedatwhich
trailerswaywillgrowcontinuously.Thismaycausethesystemto
activatemultipletimes,andyoumayexperienceaslightdecelerationof
thevehicle.
