TheAdvanceTrac௡withRSC௡systemprovidesthefollowingstability
enhancementfeaturesforcertaindrivingsituations:

TractionControlSystem(TCS),whichfunctionstohelpavoid
drive-wheelspinandlossoftraction.
ElectronicStabilityControl(ESC),whichfunctionstohelpavoidskids
orlateralslides
RollStabilityControl™(RSC௡),whichfunctionstohelpavoida
vehicleroll-over.
TheAdvanceTrac௡withRSC௡systemautomaticallyenableseachtimethe
engineisstarted.AllfeaturesoftheAdvanceTrac௡withRSC௡system
(TCS,ESC,andRSC௡)areactiveandmonitorthevehiclefromstart-up.
However,thesystemwillonlyinterveneifthedrivingsituationrequiresit.
TheAdvanceTrac௡withRSC௡
systemincludesanAdvanceTrac௡
withRSC௡buttononthecenterof
theinstrumentpanel,anda“sliding
car”icon
intheinstrument
cluster.The“slidingcar”icon
in
theinstrumentclusterwillilluminatetemporarilyduringstart-upaspart
ofanormalsystemself-check,orduringdrivingifadrivingsituation
causestheAdvanceTrac௡withRSC௡systemtooperate.Ifthe“sliding
car”icon
illuminatessteadily,verifythattheAdvanceTrac௡with
RSC௡systemisnotmanuallydisabledbypressingtheAdvanceTrac௡
withRSC௡buttonlocatedonthecenterstackoftheinstrumentpanel.If
the“slidingcar”icon
remainssteadilyilluminated,orifthemessage
center(ifequipped)displaysSERVICERSCNOW,havethesystem
servicedbyanauthorizeddealerimmediately.
WhenAdvanceTrac௡withRSC௡performsanormalsystemself-check,
somedriversmaynoticeaslightmovementofthebrake,and/ora
rumble,grunting,orgrindingnoiseafterstartupandwhendrivingoff.
WhenaneventoccursthatactivatesAdvanceTrac௡withRSC௡youmay
experiencethefollowing:

Aslightdecelerationofthevehicle
The“slidingcar”
indicatorlightwillflash.
Avibrationinthepedalwhenyourfootisonthebrakepedal
Ifthedrivingconditionissevereandyourfootisnotonthebrake,the
brakepedalmaymoveasthesystemsapplieshigherbrakeforces.You
mayalsohearawhooshofairfromundertheinstrumentpanelduring
thisseverecondition.
