system,thefrontpassengerairbagdeactivationindicatorlightilluminatesforaspecified
timeaftertheignitionisswitchedON.
Smallchildrenmustbeprotectedbyachild-restraintsystemasstipulatedbylawinevery
stateandprovince.Incertainstatesandprovinces,largerchildrenmustuseachild-restraint
system(page2-35).
Carefullyconsiderwhichchild-restraintsystemisnecessaryforyourchildandfollowthe
installationdirectionsinthisOwner'sManualaswellasthechild-restraintsystem
manufacturer'sinstructions.

Dependingonlyontheairbagsforprotectionduringanaccidentisdangerous.

collisionsorroll-overaccidentthatareatleastmoderate.Vehicleoccupantsshould

Childrenshouldnotrideinthefrontpassengerseat:
Placingachild,12yearsorunder,inthefrontseatisdangerous.Thechildcouldbe
hitbyadeployingairbagandbeseriouslyinjuredorevenkilled.Evenifthefront
passengerairbagdeactivationindicatorlightilluminates,alwaysmovethefront
passengerseatasfarbackaspossible.Asleepingchildismorelikelytoleanagainst
thedoorandbehitbythesideairbaginamoderate,right-sidecollision.Whenever
possible,alwayssecureachild12yearsandunderontherearseatswithan
appropriatechild-restraintsystemforthechild'sageandsize.
