apost-crash(aseatbeltthatwas
usedinanaccident)thannofront
seatbeltatall,usingafrontseatbelt
withanexpendedpretensioneror
loadlimiterloadedreducesthesafety
availabletoyou.Ifthefrontseatbelt
pretensionersarenotreplaced,the
riskofinjuryinacollisionwill
increase.Expendedfrontseatbelt
pretensionersandairbagsmustbe
replacedafteranycollisionwhich
causedthemtodeploy.Additionally,
theloadlimiterwillonlylimitloads
onthechestonceinacollisionand
thisisanotherreasontohavethe
frontseatbeltsinspected.Always
haveanAuthorizedMazdaDealer
inspectthefrontseatbelt
dangerous.Unlessallsafety
proceduresarefollowed,injurycould
result.AskanAuthorizedMazda
Dealerhowtosafelydisposeofthe
pretensionersystemorhowtoscrap
apretensioner-equippedvehicle.
NOTE
Thepretensionersystemwillactivateina
l
moderateorgreaterfrontalornear-frontal
collision.Thepretensionersystemforthe
frontpassengerisdesignedtoonlydeploy
inaccordancewiththetotalseatedweight
onthefrontpassengerseat.Itwillnot
activateinmostrollovers,sideorrear
impacts.
Somesmoke(non-toxicgas)willbe

releasedwhentheairbagsand
pretensionersdeploy.Thisdoesnotindicate
afire.Thisgasnormallyhasnoeffecton
occupants,however,thosewithsensitive
skinmayexperiencelightskinirritation.If
residuefromthedeploymentoftheairbags
orthefrontpretensionersystemgetsonthe
skinorintheeyes,washitoffassoonas
possible.
