DONOTfillafuelcontainerwhileitisinthevehicle(includingthe
cargoarea).

Keepthefuelpumpnozzleincontactwiththefuelcontainerwhile
filling.
DONOTuseadevicethatwouldholdthefuelpumphandleinthefill
position.
Fuel Filler Cap
Yourfueltankfillercaphasanindexeddesignwitha1/8turnon/off
feature.
Whenfuelingyourvehicle:
1.
Turntheengineoff.
2.Carefullyturnthefillercapcounterclockwise1/8ofaturnuntilit
stops.

Pulltoremovethecapfromthefuelfillerpipe.
Toinstallthecap,alignthetabsonthecapwiththenotchesonthe
fillerpipe.

Turnthefillercapclockwise1/8ofaturnuntilitstops.
The“CheckFuelCap”(ifequipped)lightilluminateswhentheignitionis
turnedtotheONposition.Itwillalsoilluminatewhenthefuelfillercap
isnotproperlyinstalled.Properfuelfillercapinstallationischecked
automaticallyasthevehicleisdriven,butnotuntilaftersomefuelis
used(fuelguagedropsbelowfull).Oncethefuelfillercapisproperly
secured,the“CheckFuelCap”lightwillturnoffafterashortperiodof
driving.
Ifyoumustreplacethefuelfillercap,replaceitwithafuelfiller
capthatisdesignedforyourvehicle.Thecustomerwarrantymay
bevoidforanydamagetothefueltankorfuelsystemifthe
correctgenuineFordorMotorcraftfuelfillercapisnotused.
