Restoring to factory setting
If you frequently travel alone, you may wish
to reprogram the SmartKey with
KEYLESS-GO so when you, grasp the driv-
er’s outside door handle only the driver’s
door and the fuel filler flap unlocks.
̈ Grasp the outside door handle on the
passenger side.
̈ Press and hold buttons Œ and ‹
simultaneously for about 6 seconds un-
til battery check lamp 5 flashes twice.
All turn signal lamps flash once. The
locking knobs in the doors move up.
The anti-theft alarm system is dis-
armed.

If you can no longer lock or unlock the
vehicle with the SmartKey with
KEYLESS-GO, then the battery of the
SmartKey with KEYLESS-GO is dis-
charged, the SmartKey with

Press and hold buttons Œ and ‹

til battery check lamp 5 flashes twice.
Global locking
The SmartKey with KEYLESS-GO will
then function as follows:
̈ Press lock button on an outside door
handle (୴ page 60).
KEYLESS-GO is malfunctioning or the
vehicle battery is drained.
With the trunk and all doors closed, all
turn signal lamps flash three times. The
locking knobs in the doors move down.
The anti-theft alarm system is armed.

Check the battery of the SmartKey
with KEYLESS-GO and replace them
if necessary (୴ page 377).

Use the mechanical key to unlock
the driver’s door (୴ page 372) and
the trunk (୴ page 373).

You can also lock the vehicle using the
lock button on the trunk lid (୴ page 99)
or, vehicles with trunk opening/closing
system*, KEYLESS-GO locking/closing
switch (୴ page 107).
Use the mechanical key to lock the
driver’s door (୴ page 372).
