CompassVariance
Compass Variance is the difference between magnetic
North and Geographic North. In some areas of the
country,thedifferencebetweenmagneticandgeographic
Northisgreatenoughtocausethecompasstogivefalse
readings.Inordertoensurecompassaccuracy,thecom-
pass variance should be properly set according to the
compassvariancemapzonethatthevehicleisin.
NOTE: Magnetic materials should be kept away from
theInstrumentPanel.Thisiswherethecompasssensoris
located.
