Thisrangeshouldbeusedformaximumenginebraking
when descending steep grades. In this range, up shifts
willoccuronlytopreventengineoverspeedwhiledown
shiftsfrom2ndtofirstwilloccurasearlyaspossible.
TheAutostickpositionisjustbelowtheOverdriveposi-
tionandisidentifiedbytheword“AUTOSTICK”.When
youplacetheshiftleverintheAutostickposition,itcan
bemovedfromsidetoside.Movingthelevertotheleft

Thegearpositionwillbeshowninthetransmissiongear
display,locatedintheinstrumentcluster.

AUTOSTICK—IFEQUIPPED
Autostickisadriver-interactivetransmissionthatoffers
manualgearshiftingcapabilitytoprovideyouwithmore
control.Autostick allows you to maximize engine brak-
ing,eliminateundesirableupshiftsanddownshifts,and
improve overall vehicle performance. This system can
alsoprovideyouwithmorecontrolduringpassing,city
driving, cold slippery conditions, mountain driving,
trailertowing,andmanyothersituations.
Youcanshiftinoroutoftheautostickmodeatanytime
withouttakingyourfootofftheacceleratorpedal.Ifyou
choosetheOverdrivemode,thetransmissionwilloper-
ate automatically; shifting between the four available
gears.Whenyouwishtoengageautostick,simplymove
theshiftlevertotheAUTOSTICKposition.Thetransmis-
sion will remain in the current gear until an upshift or
downshiftischosen.
MovetheleverbacktotheOverdrivepositiontoshiftout
oftheAutostickmode.
