notproperlyclassifytheoccupant.Objectslodgedunder
the seat or between the seat and the center console can
prevent the occupant’s weight from being measured
properly and may result in the occupant being improp-
erlyclassified.Ensurethatthefrontpassengerseatback
does not touch anything placed on the second row of
seatsbecausethiscanalsoaffectoccupantclassification.
Also,ifyoufolddowntheseatsinthesecondrowcheck
tobesuretheydon’ttouchthefrontpassengerseat.
This indicates that you should take the vehicle to an
authorizeddealer.TheAirbagWarningLightisturnedon
wheneverthereisfaultthatcanaffecttheoperationofthe
airbagsystem.IfthereisafaultpresentintheOCS,both
the PAD Indicator Light and theAirbag Warning Light
are illuminated to show that the passenger airbag is
turnedoffuntilthefaultiscleared.Ifanobjectislodged
undertheseatandinterfereswithoperationoftheweight
sensors,afaultwilloccurwhichturnsonboththePAD
IndicatorLightandtheAirbagWarningLight.Oncethe
lodgedobjectisremoved,thefaultwillbeautomatically
clearedafterashortperiodoftime.
If the front passenger seat is damaged in any way, it
should only be serviced by an authorized dealer. If the
seatisremoved(oreveniftheseatattachmentboltsare
loosenedortightenedinanyway),takethevehicletoan
authorizeddealer.

sideoftheinstrumentpanel.WhentheORCdetectsa
collision requiring the airbags, it signals the inflator
units.Alargequantityofnontoxicgasisgeneratedto

IfthereisafaultpresentintheOCS,theAirbagWarning
Light(aredlightlocatedinthecenteroftheinstrument
clusterdirectlyinfrontofthedriver)willbeturnedon.
