If your vehicle is equipped with a Manual
WARNING!
transaxle , the Brake Fluid Reservoir supplies fluid to
both the Brake System and the Clutch Release System.
Thetwosystemsareseparatedinthereservoirandaleak
in one system will not affect the other system. The
Manual Transaxle Clutch Release System should not
requirefluidreplacementduringthelifeofthevehicle.If
the Brake Fluid Reservoir is low, and the brake system
doesnotindicateanyleaksorotherproblems,itmaybe
aresultofaleakintheHydraulicClutchReleaseSystem.
Seeyourlocalauthorizeddealerforservice.
Wornbrakehosescanburstandcausebrakefailure.
Youcouldhaveanaccident.Ifyouseeanysignsof
cracking, scuffing, or worn spots, have the brake
hosesreplacedimmediately.
BrakeMasterCylinder
Thefluidlevelinthemastercylindershouldbechecked
whenperformingunderhoodservices,orimmediatelyif
thebrakesystemwarninglampison.
Useonlymanufacturersrecommendedbrakefluid,refer
toFluids,LubricantsandGenuinePartsforcorrectfluid
type.
Besuretocleanthetopofthemastercylinderareabefore
removing the cap. If necessary, add fluid to bring the
fluidleveluptotherequirementsdescribedonthebrake
fluidreservoir.Fluidlevelcanbeexpectedtofallasthe
brake pads wear. Brake fluid level should be checked
whenpadsarereplaced.However,lowfluidlevelmaybe
causedbyaleakandacheckupmaybeneeded.
