Afteranyvehiclecollision,thecombinationlapandshoulderbelt
systematallpassengerseatingpositionsmustbecheckedbyan
authorizeddealertoverifythatthe“automaticlockingretractor”
featureforchildseatsisstillfunctioningproperly,inadditiontoother
checksforpropersafetybeltsystemfunction.
BELTANDRETRACTORASSEMBLYMUSTBEREPLACEDif
thesafetybeltassembly“automaticlockingretractor”featureor
anyothersafetybeltfunctionisnotoperatingproperly.Inaddition,all
safetybeltsshouldbecheckedforproperfunction.Failuretoreplace
thebeltandretractorassemblycouldincreasetheriskofinjuryin
collisions.
Safety belt pretensioner
Yourvehicleisequippedwithsafetybeltpretensionersatthedriverand
rightfrontpassengerseatingpositions.
Thesafetybeltpretensionertightensthesafetybeltsfirmlyagainstthe
occupant’sbodyatthestartofthecrash.
WhentheoptionalSafetyCanopysystem,seat-mountedsideairbags,
and/orthefrontairbagsareactivated,thesafetybeltpretensionersfor
thedriverandrightfrontpassengerseatingpositionswillbeactivated
whentherespectiveseatbeltisproperlybuckled.
Thedriverandfrontpassengersafetybeltsystem(including
retractors,bucklesandheightadjusters)mustbereplacedifthe
vehicleisinvolvedinacollisionthatresultsindeploymentoffront
airbags,seat-mountedsideairbagsandSafetyCanopy(ifequipped),
andsafetybeltpretensioners.
