Waituntilthesafetybeltwarninglightturnsoff.(Approximately1

Step3mustbecompletedwithin50secondsafterthesafetybelt
warninglightturnsoff.

Fortheseatingpositionbeingdisabled,atamoderatespeed,buckle
thenunbucklethesafetybelt9times,endingintheunbuckledstate.

AfterStep3,therestraintsystemwarninglight(airbaglight)willbe
turnedonforthreeseconds.

Withinapproximately7secondsofthelightturningoff,bucklethen
unbucklethesafetybelt.

iscurrentlyenabled.Asconfirmation,therestraintsystemwarning
lightwillflash4timespersecondfor3seconds.

iscurrentlydisabled.Asconfirmation,therestraintsystemwarning
lightwillflash4timespersecondfor3seconds,followedby3
secondswiththelightoff,thenfollowedbytherestraintsystem
warninglightflashing4timespersecondfor3secondsagain.
Safety belt maintenance
Inspectthesafetybeltsystemsperiodicallytomakesuretheywork
properlyandarenotdamaged.Inspectthesafetybeltstomakesure
therearenonicks,tearsorcuts.Replaceifnecessary.Allsafetybelt
assemblies,includingretractors,buckles,frontsafetybeltbuckle
assemblies,bucklesupportassemblies(slidebar-ifequipped),shoulder
beltheightadjusters(ifequipped),shoulderbeltguideonseatback(if
equipped),childsafetyseatLATCHandtetheranchors,andattaching
hardware,shouldbeinspectedafteracollision.FordMotorCompany
recommendsthatallsafetybeltassembliesinuseinvehiclesinvolvedin
acollisionbereplaced.However,ifthecollisionwasminorandan
authorizeddealerfindsthatthebeltsdonotshowdamageandcontinue
tooperateproperly,theydonotneedtobereplaced.Safetybelt
assembliesnotinuseduringacollisionshouldalsobeinspectedand
replacedifeitherdamageorimproperoperationisnoted.
