Cleaningtheliquidcrystaldisplay(LCD)flip-downscreen
Cleanthedisplayscreenbyapplyingasmallamountofwaterorany
ammonia-basedhouseholdglasscleanerdirectlytoasoftcloth.Rubthe
screengentlyuntilthedust,dirtorfingerprintsareremoved.Donot
spraythescreendirectlywithwaterorglasscleaningsolvents.Overspray
fromthesefluidscoulddripdownintotheinternalelectronicsofthe
screenandcausedamage.Donotapplyexcessivepressurewhile
cleaningthescreen.
CleaningDVDandCDdiscs
Inspectalldiscsforcontaminationbeforeplaying.Ifnecessary,clean
discsonlywithanapprovedDVDandCDcleanerandwipefromthe
centerouttotheedge.Donotusecircularmotion.
Compatibilitywithaftermarketaudiosystems
(headphoneonlymode)
WhentheFamilyEntertainmentSystem(FES)detectsthattheoriginal
radiosuppliedbyFordMotorCompanyhasbeenremovedfromthe
vehicle,theFESwillworkinastatereferredtoas“HeadphoneOnly
Mode.”ThismodeallowstheFEStooperateasastandalonesystem,
withoutinterfacetotheradio.
WhileoperatinginHeadphoneOnlyMode,thesystemwillhavelimited
functionality.

Thesystemwillonlyoutputaudiototheheadphones.Itwillnotbe
capableofprovidingaudiotothespeakers.
TheavailablesourcesinFESHeadphoneOnlyModeareDVD-DISC
andDVD-AUX,regardlessofheadphonechannel(AorB).
WhenadiscisinsertedintotheFESwhileinHeadphoneOnlyMode,
bothheadphonechannels(AandB)willbeconnectedtoFES-DISC.
