turningthekeyto4(START).If
thereisdifficultyinturningthekey,
rotatethesteeringwheeluntilthe
keyturnsfreely.Thisconditionmay

Turnthekeyto4(START),then
releasethekeyassoonasthe
enginestarts.Excessivecrankingcoulddamagethestarter.
Note:Iftheenginedoesnotstartwithinfivesecondsonthefirsttry,
turnthekeytoOFF,wait10secondsandtryagain.Iftheenginestill
failstostart,presstheacceleratortothefloorandtryagain;thiswill
allowtheenginetocrankwiththefuelshutoffincasetheengineis
floodedwithfuel.
Guarding against exhaust fumes
Carbonmonoxideispresentinexhaustfumes.Takeprecautionstoavoid
itsdangerouseffects.
Ifyousmellexhaustfumesinsideyourvehicle,haveyourdealer
inspectyourvehicleimmediately.Donotdriveifyousmell
exhaustfumes.
Important ventilating information
Iftheengineisidlingwhilethevehicleisstoppedforalongperiodof
time,openthewindowsatleastoneinch(2.5cm)oradjusttheheating
orairconditioningtobringinfreshair.
ENGINE BLOCK HEATER (IF EQUIPPED)
Anengineblockheaterwarmstheenginecoolantwhichaidsinstarting
andheater/defrosterperformance.Useofanengineblockheateris
stronglyrecommendedifyouliveinaregionwheretemperaturesreach
-10°F
(-23°C)orbelow.Forbestresults,plugtheheaterinatleastthree
hoursbeforestartingthevehicle.Theheatercanbepluggedinthenight
beforestartingthevehicle.
