Loss of the SmartKey

Press button Πtwice.
̈ Press and hold buttons Œ and ‹
simultaneously for about 6 seconds
until battery check lamp 5
If you lose your SmartKey or mechanical
key, you should do the following:

All turn signal lamps flash once.
The locking knobs in the doors
move up.
̈ Have the SmartKey deactivated at an
authorized Mercedes-Benz Light Truck
Center.
(୴ page 100) flashes twice.
Checking batteries in the SmartKey
ț
The anti-theft alarm system is
disarmed.
̈
Report the loss of the SmartKey or the
mechanical key immediately to your
car insurance company.
̈
Press button ‹ or Œ.
Global locking
Battery check lamp 5 (୴ page 100)
comes on briefly to indicate that the
SmartKey batteries are in order.
̈
Press button ‹.
̈ If necessary, have the mechanical lock
replaced.
With the hood, tailgate and all doors
closed:
i If battery check lamp 5 does not come on
briefly during check, the SmartKey batteries are
discharged.
Any authorized Mercedes-Benz Light Truck
Center will be glad to supply you with a re-
placement.

All turn signal lamps flash three
times.
Replace the batteries (୴ page 376).
The locking knobs in the doors
move down.
You can obtain the required batteries at any
authorized Mercedes-Benz Light Truck Center.
The anti-theft alarm system is
armed.

If the batteries are checked within signal
range of the vehicle, pressing button ‹
or Πwill lock or unlock the vehicle
accordingly.
