willdisablethetrailerswaycontrolfeatureandthe
iconwillflash
momentarilyandthenilluminatesolidforthatignitioncycle.Trailersway
controlcanbere-enabledbymomentarilypressingtheAdvanceTrac
withRSCbutton.Trailerswaycontrolwillalsobere-enabledateach
newkeycycle.
WARNING:Turningofftrailerswaycontrolincreasestheriskof
lossofvehiclecontrol,seriousinjury,ordeath.Forddoesnot
recommenddisablingthisfeatureexceptinsituationswherespeed
reductionmaybedetrimental(e.g.,hillclimbing),thedriverhas
significanttrailertowingexperience,andcancontroltrailerswayand
maintainsafeoperation.
STEERING
Yourvehicleisequippedwithanelectricpower-assistedsteering(EPAS)
system.Thereisnofluidreservoirtocheckorfill.
Ifyourvehicleloseselectricalpowerwhileyouaredriving(orifthe
ignitionisturnedoff),youcansteerthevehiclemanually,butittakes
moreeffort.Underextremeusageconditions,thesteeringeffortmay
increase.Thisoccurstopreventoverheatingandpermanentdamageto
yoursteeringsystem.Ifthisshouldoccur,youwillneitherlosetheability
tosteerthevehiclemanuallynorwillitcausepermanentdamage.
Typicalsteeringanddrivingmaneuverswillallowthesystemtocooland
steeringassistwillreturntonormal.
