unexpectedlyandinjuresomeone.Use1(First)gearandsetthe
parkingbrakefully.
REVERSE SENSING SYSTEM (IF  EQUIPPED)
TheReverseSensingSystem(RSS)soundsatonetowarnthedriverof
obstaclesneartherearbumperwhenR(Reverse)isselectedandthe
vehicleismovingatspeedslessthan3mph(5km/h).Thesystemisnot
effectiveatspeedsabove3mph(5km/h)andmaynotdetectcertain
angularormovingobjects.
WARNING:Tohelpavoidpersonalinjury,pleasereadand
understandthelimitationsofthereversesensingsystemas
containedinthissection.Reversesensingisonlyanaidforsome
(generallylargeandfixed)objectswhenmovinginreverseonaflat
surfaceat“parkingspeeds”.Inclementweathermayalsoaffectthe
functionoftheRSS;thismayincludereducedperformanceorafalse
activation.
WARNING:Tohelpavoidpersonalinjury,alwaysusecaution
wheninreverseandwhenusingtheRSS.
WARNING:Thissystemisnotdesignedtopreventcontactwith
smallormovingobjects.Thesystemisdesignedtoprovidea
warningtoassistthedriverindetectinglargestationaryobjectsto
avoiddamagingthevehicle.Thesystemmaynotdetectsmaller
objects,particularlythoseclosetotheground.
WARNING:Certainadd-ondevicessuchaslargetrailerhitches,
bikeorsurfboardracksandanydevicethatmayblockthe
normaldetectionzoneoftheRSSsystemmaycreatefalsebeeps.
