Ifthesecurityindicatorlightilluminates

andstaysonorflasheswhentheignition
switchisturnedtotheONposition,the
enginewillnotstart.
Ifthetheftdeterrentsystemdetectsan
inappropriateentryintothevehicle,which
couldresultinthevehicleoritscontents
beingstolen,thealarmalertsthe
surroundingareaofanabnormalityby
soundingthehornandflashingthehazard
warninglights.
SignalsfromaTVorradiostation,orfrom
l
atransceiveroramobiletelephone,could
interferewithyourimmobilizersystem.If
youareusingtheproperkeyandyour
enginefailstostart,checkthesecurity
indicatorlight.Ifitisflashing,removethe
ignitionkeyandwait2secondsormore,
thenreinsertitandtrystartingtheengine
again.Ifitdoesnotstartafter3ormore
tries,contactanAuthorizedMazdaDealer.

Thetheft-deterrentsystemoperateswiththe

keyorthekeylessentrysystemtransmitter.
Thesystemwillnotfunctionunlessitis

properlyarmed.Toproperlysecurethe
vehicle,alwaysmakesureallwindowsare
completelyclosedandalldoorsandthe
liftgatearelockedbeforeleavingthe
vehicle.Remembertotakeyourkeyand
transmitter.
Ifthesecurityindicatorlightflashes
l
continuouslywhileyouaredriving,donot
shutofftheengine.GotoanAuthorized
MazdaDealerandhaveitchecked.Ifyou
shutofftheenginewhilethelightis
flashingyouwillnotbeabletorestartit.
Sincetheelectroniccodesareresetwhen
l
qOperation
repairingtheimmobilizersystem,thekeys
areneeded.Bringalltheexistingkeystoan
AuthorizedMazdaDealer.
Systemtriggeringconditions
Thehornsoundsintermittentlyandthe
hazardwarninglightsflashforabout30
secondswhenthesystemistriggeredby
anyoneofthefollowing:
qModificationandAdd-On
Equipment
Mazdacannotguaranteetheimmobilizer
system'soperationifthesystemhasbeen
modifiedorifanyadd-onequipmenthas
beeninstalled.
Forcingopenadoor,thehoodorthe
liftgate.
Unlockingadoorwiththedoorlock
switch.

Unlockingadoorwiththeinsidedoor-
lockknob(otherthanfrontpassenger
side).
Openingadoorbyoperatinganinside
door-lockknob.

CAUTION
Toavoiddamagetoyourvehicle,do
notmodifythesystemorinstallany
add-onequipmenttotheimmobilizer
systemorthevehicle.

Openingthehoodbyoperatingthe
hoodreleasehandle.
l
Ifthesystemistriggeredagain,thelights
andhornwillactivateuntiladoororthe
liftgateisunlockedwiththekeyorwith
thetransmitter.
