Towing & load carrying
Ensure that the head of the bolt rests firmly
NOTE: Towing regulations varyfrom country
to country. It is veryimportant, therefore, to
ensure that nationalregulations governing
towing weights and speed limits are observed.
The maximum permissible towed weights and
information stated on the instruction label
attached to the tow bracket refer to the
vehicle’s design limitations and NOTto any
specific territorialrestrictions (see ’Maximum
permissible towed weights’).

locknuts are tightened.
Using the wheelbrace, separatelyfit and
tighten the two locknuts.
WARNING
Before towing, ALWAYS check that the
locknuts are fully tightened and that the
cutout in the towball body is located on the
stud at the rear of the channel.
ALWAYS store the towball in the storage
tray at the side of the spare wheel. NEVER
leave the towball loose in the vehicle where
it could become a projectile in the event of
heavy braking or an accident.
NOTE: In some countries it is a requirement
that the towball remains attached to the
vehicle.
THELANDROVER TOWBALL
(if fitted)
In some countries, vehicles are supplied with
a Land Rover towball - this is stowed in the
storage tray at the side of the spare wheel.
Insert the towball into the channelbeneath the
rear bumper, locating the rear of the towball
over the stud at the rear of the channel. Hold
the towball in position and, from the left hand
side, insert the bolt through the channeland
the towball.
