Tire change procedure
Parkonalevelsurface,activate
1.
hazardflashersandsettheparking
brake.
Whenoneofthefrontwheelsisofftheground,thetransaxle
alonewillnotpreventthevehiclefrommovingorslippingoffthe
jack,evenifthevehicleisinP(Park)(automatictransaxle)orR
(Reverse)(manualtransaxle).
Tohelppreventthevehiclefrommovingwhenyouchangeatire,
besuretheparkingbrakeisset,thenblock(inbothdirections)
thewheelthatisdiagonallyopposite(othersideandendofthe
vehicle)tothetirebeingchanged.
Ifthevehicleslipsoffthejack,youorsomeoneelsecouldbe
seriouslyinjured.

PlacegearshiftleverinP(Park)(automatictransaxle)orR(Reverse)
(manualtransaxle),turnengineOFF,andblockthediagonallyopposite
wheel.
3.
Removethesparetireandjackby
turningtheirtie-downbolts
counterclockwise.Thelugwrenchis
locatedinabagnexttothespare
tire(coupeand5–doormodels)or
ontopofthesparetire(sedanand
wagonmodels).
