Turn the compact spare tire so that the valve stem is
WARNING!
downandplacethetireintothesparetirecoverassem-
bly. Slide the wheel spacer through the center of the
wheel and spare tire cover assembly so that the two
retainertabssnapoutandengagethesparetirecoveron
theoppositeside.
Verify that ’both’ retainer tabs of the wheel spacer
have been properly extended through the center of
the wheel and spare tire cover assembly. Failure to
properly engage both retainer tabs could result in
loss of the spare tire & cover assembly, which will
causevehicledamageandmaycauselossofcontrol
ofthevehicle.
CAUTION!
Thecompactsparetirecoverassemblymustbeused
whenthecompactsparetireisstored.Failuretouse
this cover could drastically reduce the life of the
compactsparetire.
4. Usingthewinch“T”handle,rotatethedrivenuttothe
right until the compact spare tire/cover assembly is
drawnintoplaceagainsttheundersideofthevehicle.
5.
Continue to rotate the nut approximately 33 turns
untilyouhearthewinchmechanismclickthreetimes.It
cannot be overtightened. Check under the vehicle to
ensure the compact spare tire/cover assembly is posi-
tionedcorrectlyagainsttheundersideofthevehicle.
