BodyLubrication
Locksandallbodypivotpoints,includingsuchitemsas
seattracks,doors,liftgate,slidingdoorsandhoodhinges,
should be lubricated periodically to assure quiet, easy
operationandtoprotectagainstrustandwear.Priorto
the application of any lubricant, the parts concerned
should be wiped clean to remove dust and grit; after
lubricating excess oil and grease should be removed.
Particularattentionshouldalsobegiventohoodlatching
componentstoinsureproperfunction.Whenperforming
otherunderhoodservices,thehoodlatch,releasemecha-
nismandsafetycatchshouldbecleanedandlubricated.
Operation of the wipers on dry glass for long periods
maycausedeteriorationofthewiperblades.Alwaysuse
washerfluidwhenusingthewiperstoremovesaltordirt
fromadrywindshield.
Avoidusingthewiperbladestoremovefrostoricefrom
thewindshield.Keepthebladerubberoutofcontactwith
petroleumproductssuchasengineoil,gasoline,etc.
Theexternallockcylindersshouldbelubricatedtwicea
year, preferably in the fall and spring. Apply a small
