If a child from 1 to 12 years old must ride in the front
passengerseatbecausethevehicleiscrowded,movethe
seat as far back as possible, and use the proper child
restraint.SeethesectiononChildRestraint.

You should read the instructions provided with your
childrestrainttomakesurethatyouareusingitproperly.
InfantsinrearfacingchildrestraintsshouldNEVERride
inthefrontseatofavehiclewithapassengerfrontairbag.
Anairbagdeploymentcancausesevereinjuryordeathto
infantsinthatposition.
2. All occupants should wear their lap and shoulder
beltsproperly.
Children that are not big enough to properly wear the
vehicle seat belt (refer to section on Child Restraint)
shouldbesecuredintherearseat,inachildrestraintor
belt-positioningboosterseat.Olderchildrenwhodonot
use child restraints or belt-positioning booster seats
shouldrideproperlybuckledupintherearseat,andin
the outboard seat if possible. Never allow children to
slidetheshoulderbeltbehindthemorundertheirarm.
3. The driver and front passenger seats should be
movedbackasfaraspracticaltoallowthefrontairbags
roomtoinflate.

Ifyourvehiclehaswindowbags,donotleanagainst
the door, airbags will inflate forcefully into the space
betweenyouandthedoor.
