ShiftingOutOfNeutral(N)
Usethefollowingproceduretoprepareyourvehiclefor
normalusage.
WARNING!
You or others could be injured if you leave the
vehicle unattended with the transfer case in the N
(Neutral) position without first fully engaging the
parkingbrake.ThetransfercaseN(Neutral)position
disengagesboththefrontandreardriveshaftsfrom
the powertrain and will allow the vehicle to move
regardlessofthetransmissionposition.Theparking
brake should always be applied when the driver is
notinthevehicle.

TurntheignitionkeytotheunlockedOFFposition.
ShifttransmissionintoN(Neutral).
Shift transfer case lever to desired position. Refer to
“Four-WheelDriveOperation”inthissection.

ShifttransmissionintoP(Park).
Starttheengine.
ShifttransmissionintoD(Drive).
NOTE: WhenshiftingoutoftransfercaseN(Neutral),
turning the engine OFF may be required to avoid gear
clash.
CAUTION!
Donotuseabumpermountedclamp-ontowbaron
yourvehicle.Thebumperfacebarwillbedamaged.
