TheBeltMinderfeatureisasupplementalwarningtothesafetybelt
warningfunction.Thisfeatureprovidesadditionalremindersby
intermittentlysoundingachimeandilluminatingthesafetybeltwarning
lampintheinstrumentclusterwhenthedriver’sandfrontpassenger’s
safetybeltisunbuckled.
TheBeltMinderfeatureusesinformationfromthefrontpassenger
sensingsystemtodetermineifafrontseatpassengerispresentand
thereforepotentiallyinneedofawarning.Toavoidactivatingthe
BeltMinderfeatureforobjectsplacedinthefrontpassengerseat,
warningswillonlybegiventolargefrontseatoccupantsasdetermined
bythefrontpassengersensingsystem.
Boththedriver’sandpassenger’ssafetybeltusagesaremonitoredand
eithermayactivatetheBeltMinderfeature.Thewarningsarethesame
forthedriverandthefrontpassenger.IftheBeltMinderwarningshave
expired(warningsforapproximately5minutes)foroneoccupant(driver
orfrontpassenger),theotheroccupantcanstillactivatetheBeltMinder
feature.
