Donotconnectatrailer’shydraulicbrakesystemdirectlytoyour
vehicle’sbrakesystem.Yourvehiclemaynothaveenough
brakingpowerandyourchancesofhavingacollisiongreatlyincrease.
Thebrakingsystemofthetowvehicleisratedforoperationatthe
GVWRnotGCWR.
Trailer lamps
Trailerlampsarerequiredonmosttowedvehicles.Makesureallrunning
lights,brakelights,turnsignalsandhazardlightsareworking.Donot
connecttrailerlampsdirectlytoyourvehicle’staillamps.Thiscancause
damagetoyourvehicle’selectricalsystem.Seeyourauthorizeddealeror
trailerrentalagencyforproperinstructionsandequipmentforhooking
uptrailerlamps.
Driving while you tow
Whentowingatrailer:

Keepyourspeednofasterthan70mph(112km/h)duringthefirst
miles(800km)oftowingatrailer,anddon’tmakefullthrottle
500
starts.

Turnoffthespeedcontrol.Thespeedcontrolmayshutoff
automaticallywhenyouaretowingonlong,steepgrades.
