thesystemdeterminesthatasmallchildispresentinaforward-facing
childrestraintthatisinstalledaccordingtothemanufacturer’s
instructions,

thesystemdeterminesthatasmallchildispresentinaboosterseat,
afrontpassengertakeshis/herweightoffoftheseatforaperiodof
time,
Forsideairbagequippedvehicles,thefrontpassengersensingsystem
willturnoffthepassengerseatsideairbagif:

theseatisemptyandsafetybeltisunbuckled.
Thefrontpassengersensingsystem
usesaЉpassengerairbagoffЉorЉpass
airbagoffЉindicatorwhichwill
illuminateandstaylittoremindyou
thatthefrontpassengerfrontalairbag
isoff.Theindicatorlampislocatedin
thecenterstackoftheinstrument
paneljustbelowtheradio.
Note:Theindicatorlampwillilluminateforashortperiodoftimewhen
theignitionisturnedtotheONpositiontoconfirmitisfunctional.
Whenthefrontpassengerseatisnotoccupied(emptyseat)orinthe
eventthatthefrontpassengerfrontalairbagisenabled(mayinflate),the
indicatorlampwillbeunlit.
Thefrontpassengersensingsystemisdesignedtodisable(willnot
inflate)thefrontpassenger’sfrontalairbagwhenarearfacinginfant
seat,aforward-facingchildrestraint,oraboosterseatisdetected.

Whenthefrontpassengersensingsystemdisables(willnotinflate)the
frontpassengerfrontalairbag,theindicatorlampwillilluminateandstay
littoremindyouthatthefrontpassengerfrontalairbagisdisabled.
•
Ifthechildrestrainthasbeeninstalledandtheindicatorlampisnot
lit,thenturnthevehicleoff,removethechildrestraintfromthe
vehicleandreinstalltherestraintfollowingthechildrestraint
manufacturer’sinstructions.
