Using the clutch
Themanualtransaxlehasastarterinterlockthatpreventscrankingthe
engineunlesstheclutchpedalisfullydepressed.
Tostartthevehicle:
1.
2.
Makesuretheparkingbrakeisfullyset.
Presstheclutchpedaltothefloor,thenputthegearshiftleverinthe
neutralposition.
3.
Starttheengine.
4.
Pressthebrakepedalandmovethegearshiftlevertothedesired
gear;1(First)orR(Reverse).
5.
Releasetheparkingbrake,thenslowlyreleasetheclutchpedalwhile
slowlypressingontheaccelerator.
Duringeachshift,theclutchpedalmustbefullydepressedtothefloor.
Makesurethefloormatisproperlypositionedsoitdoesn’tinterferewith
thefullextensionoftheclutchpedal.
Failuretofullydepresstheclutchpedaltothefloormaycause
increasedshiftefforts,prematurelyweartransaxlecomponents
ordamagethetransaxle.
Donotdrivewithyourfootrestingontheclutchpedalorusethe
clutchpedaltoholdyourvehicleatastandstillwhilewaitingona
hill.Theseactionswillreducethelifeoftheclutch.
