Refertothescheduledmaintenanceinformationfortheappropriate
intervalsforcheckingtheengineoil.

Turntheengineoffandwait15minutesfortheoiltodrainintothe
oilpan.

SettheparkingbrakeandensurethegearshiftissecurelylatchedinP
(automatictransmission)or1st(manualtransmission).

Openthehood.Protectyourselffromengineheat.
Locateandcarefullyremovetheengineoilleveldipstick.
Wipethedipstickclean.Insertthedipstickfully,thenremoveitagain.

ADDOIL.

IftheoillevelisbelowtheMIN
mark,addenoughengineoilto
raisethelevelwithintheMINand
MAXrange.RefertoAdding
engineoilinthischapter.

OillevelsaboveMAXmark
maycauseenginedamage.If
theengineisoverfilled,someoil
mustberemovedfromtheengine
byanauthorizeddealer.
