Lighting
When the engine is running, and you turn the X Turn the exterior lamp switch to position
Combination switch
exterior lamp switch to positionC or
B, the manual headlamp mode has
priority over the daytime running lamp mode.
The corresponding exterior lamps come on
C orB (Y page 111).
X Switching on front fog lamps: Pull out the
exterior lamp switch to first stop.
The green indicator lamp¥ in the
exterior lamp switch comes on.

X Switching on rear fog lamp: Pull out the
exterior lamp switch to second stop.
The rear fog lamp, the front fog lamps and
the yellow indicator lamp† in the
exterior lamp switch come on.
X Switching off front fog lamps/rear fog
lamp: Push in the exterior lamp switch to
its stop.
Fog lamps
Fog lamps cannot be switched on with the
exterior lamp switch in positionU. To
switch on the fog lamps, turn the exterior
lamp switch to positionB first.

High beam
G Warning!
2 High-beam flasher
In low ambient lighting or foggy conditions,
only switch from positionU toB
with the vehicle at a standstill in a safe
location.
Switching fromU toB will briefly
switch off the headlamps. Doing so while
driving in low ambient lighting conditions
may result in an accident.
High beam
Locator lighting and night security
illumination
X Turn the exterior lamp switch to position
B (Y page 111).
X Switching on: Push the combination
switch in direction of arrow 1.
The high-beam headlamp indicator lamp
A in the instrument cluster comes on.

X Switching off: Pull the combination switch
in direction of arrow 2 to its original
position.
