Control system
Setting the date
This function is only available if your vehicle
is not equipped with navigation module.
The following functions are available:
X Press buttonæ orç to select
manual operation (Manual) or daytime
running lamp mode (Constant).
RSetting daytime running lamp mode (USA
only) (Y page 153)
X Move the selection marker with button
æ orç to theTime/Date submenu.
X Press buttonj ork repeatedly until
the messageSet Date Month,Set Date
Day, orSet Date Year appears in the
multifunction display.
With daytime running lamp mode activated
and the exterior lamp switch in position
M orU, the low-beam headlamps are
switched on when the engine is running.
In low ambient light conditions the following
lamps will come on additionally:
RSetting locator lighting (Y page 154)
RSetting ambient lighting (Y page 154)
RSetting night security illumination

Y page 154)
RSetting interior lighting delayed shut-off
(Y page 155)
The selection marker is on the current
setting.

the messageHeadlamp Mode appears in
the multifunction display.
The selection marker is on the current
setting.
For safety reasons, resetting all the functions
of all submenus to the factory settings while
driving (Y page 149) will not deactivate the
daytime running lamp mode.
The following message appears in the
multifunction display:

Lighting - Cannot be completely
reset to factory settings while
driving.
Lighting submenu
Access theLighting submenu via the
Settings menu. Use theLighting submenu
to change the lamp and lighting settings on
your vehicle.
