CAUTION
ØEachtire,includingthespare(ifprovided),shouldbecheckedmonthlywhencold
andinflatedtotheinflationpressurerecommendedbythevehiclemanufacturer
onthevehicleplacardortireinflationpressurelabel.(Ifyourvehiclehastiresofa
differentsizethanthesizeindicatedonthevehicleplacardortireinflation
pressurelabel,youshoulddeterminethepropertireinflationpressureforthose
tires.)
Asanaddedsafetyfeature,yourvehiclehasbeenequippedwithatirepressure
monitoringsystem(TPMS)thatilluminatesalowtirepressuretelltalewhenone
ormoreofyourtiresissignificantlyunder-inflated.Accordingly,whenthelowtire
pressuretelltaleilluminates,youshouldstopandcheckyourtiresassoonas
possible,andinflatethemtotheproperpressure.Drivingonasignificantlyunder-
inflatedtirecausesthetiretooverheatandcanleadtotirefailure.Under-inflation
alsoreducesfuelefficiencyandtiretreadlife,andmayaffectthevehicle's
handlingandstoppingability.
PleasenotethattheTPMSisnotasubstituteforpropertiremaintenance,andit
isthedriver'sresponsibilitytomaintaincorrecttirepressure,evenifunder-
inflationhasnotreachedtheleveltotriggerilluminationoftheTPMSlowtire
pressuretelltale.
ØYourvehiclehasalsobeenequippedwithaTPMSmalfunctionindicatorto
indicatewhenthesystemisnotoperatingproperly.
TheTPMSmalfunctionindicatoriscombinedwiththelowtirepressuretelltale.
Whenthesystemdetectsamalfunction,thetelltalewillflashforapproximately
oneminuteandthenremaincontinuouslyilluminated.Thissequencewill
continueuponsubsequentvehiclestart-upsaslongasthemalfunctionexists.
Whenthemalfunctionindicatorisilluminated,thesystemmaynotbeableto
detectorsignallowtirepressureasintended.TPMSmalfunctionsmayoccurfora
varietyofreasons,includingtheinstallationofreplacementoralternatetiresor
wheelsonthevehiclethatpreventtheTPMSfromfunctioningproperly.Always
checktheTPMSmalfunctiontelltaleafterreplacingoneormoretiresorwheelson
yourvehicletoensurethatthereplacementoralternatetiresandwheelsallow
theTPMStocontinuetofunctionproperly.
ØToavoidfalsereadings,thesystemsamplesforalittlewhilebeforeindicatinga
problem.Asaresultitwillnotinstantaneouslyregisterarapidtiredeflationor
blowout.

conditions:(1)Thisdevicemaynotcauseharmfulinterference,and(2)thisdevicemustacceptany
interferencereceived,includinginterferencethatmaycauseundesiredoperation.
