CAUTION
Theautomatictransaxlefluidlevelshould
beinspectedregularly.Measureitas
describedbelow.
Toavoiddamagetothepower
steeringpump,don'toperatethe
vehicleforlongperiodswhenthe
powersteeringfluidlevelislow.

ØAlwayschecktheautomatic
transaxlefluidlevelaccordingto
thefollowingprocedure.Ifthe
procedureisnotdonecorrectly,
theautomatictransaxlefluidlevel
cannotbemeasuredaccurately
whichcouldleadtoautomatic
transaxledamage.
Inspectthefluidlevelinthereservoirat
eachengineoilchangewiththeengineoff
andcold.Addfluidifnecessary;itdoes
notrequireperiodicchanging.
ØAlowfluidlevelcancause
transaxleslippage.Overfillingcan
causefoaming,lossoffluid,and
transaxlemalfunction.
ØUseonlythespecifiedfluid.Anon-
specifiedfluidcouldresultin
transaxlemalfunctionandfailure.

fromtheATFhoseorthehousing.
ThelevelmustbekeptbetweenMINand

Shifttheshiftlevertotheparkposition

Visuallyexaminethelinesandhosesfor
leaksanddamage.

Ifnewfluidisrequiredfrequently,consult
anAuthorizedMazdaDealer.
Donotshifttheshiftleverwhilethe
engineiswarmingup.IftheATFlevel
isextremelylow,theautomatic
transaxlecouldbedamaged.
